Transfer to Alanya

Getting from the Airport to Alanya

Landing is just the beginning. Here’s the practical guide to the final leg of your journey — from either airport straight to Alanya.
Alanya is served by two convenient airports — Antalya Airport (AYT), located approximately 125 km west of the city, and the closer Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport (GZP), just 45 km to the east. Whether you land at the busy international hub of Antalya or the smaller, resort-friendly Gazipaşa terminal, there are several ways to make the journey into Alanya. Travellers can choose from private transfer services for a door-to-door experience, shared shuttle buses for a budget-friendly option, public buses and the Havaş airport shuttle, taxi or car hire for maximum flexibility.

From Antalya Airport (AYT)
125 km, approx. 1h 45min–2h 30min

The drive from Antalya Airport to Alanya follows the D400 coastal highway east — a scenic route that passes through Manavgat and hugs the Mediterranean shoreline. Journey time varies: off-peak it can be as quick as 1 hour 45 minutes; in high summer with traffic, allow up to 2.5 hours. Whatever option you choose, it’s a comfortable and straightforward journey.

From Gazipaşa–Alanya Airport (GZP)
40 km, approx. 40–50 min

This is where GZP wins hands down. At just 40 km from Alanya city centre, the transfer is almost effortlessly short. A private taxi or pre-booked transfer will have you at your hotel in 40 to 50 minutes — sometimes less. Even the Havas shuttle bus, which connects the airport with Alanya’s bus station (otogar), completes the trip in under an hour. It’s genuinely one of the most convenient airport connections on the entire Turkish coast.

Compare & Decide

From the Antalya Airport:

Transfer Type

Duration

Approx. Cost

Pre-booked Private Transfer

~1h 45min–2h

€40–70 (up to 4 passengers) · VIP/minibus from €70–100

Shared Shuttle Bus

~2h–2h 30min

~€10–20 per person

Airport Taxi (metered)

~1h 45min–2h

Higher & variable — always confirm fare upfront

Public Bus (tram + Kamil Koç/OBD)

~3h+

~€5–10 per person (budget option, multiple changes)

Our recommendation: a pre-booked private transfer is the sweet spot for most visitors. You’ll be met at arrivals with a name board, loaded into a comfortable vehicle, and driven door-to-door to your hotel or apartment with no stops along the way. Many companies offer flight-tracking so they’ll wait even if you’re delayed. Prices are transparent, payment is easy, and child seats are usually included free on request.

If you’re on a tight budget, shared shuttle services are a solid alternative — just bear in mind they make multiple drops along the Alanya coastline, so your journey could take longer depending on where your hotel sits. We’d recommend avoiding the public bus route as a first option unless you’re very comfortable navigating Turkish transport systems with luggage in tow.

✨ Tip: Always book your transfer before you travel, especially in peak season (June–September). Availability at the airport itself can be limited and prices are higher on the spot.

From the Gazipasa – Alanya Airport:

Transfer Type

Duration

Approx. Cost

Pre-booked Private Transfer

~40–50 min

€35–55 (up to 4 passengers)

Local Taxi (metered)

~45 min

~€15 for standard taxi to city centre

Havas Shuttle Bus

~50–60 min

~€5 per person (departs on flight arrivals)

Local metered taxis are available right outside arrivals and offer agreeable value for the short journey — though most drivers won’t speak much English, so it helps to have your hotel address written in Turkish or saved on your phone. For added peace of mind and a guaranteed price, a pre-booked private transfer is always a great option and removes any potential language barrier.

The Havas shuttle bus is the budget-friendly choice, running in sync with flight arrivals and dropping passengers at Alanya’s central bus station. From there, it’s a short taxi ride or walk to most central hotels. A perfectly fine option if you’re travelling light and solo.

💡 Tip: If you can fly into Gazipaşa, do it. The time and energy you save on the transfer alone makes it worth prioritising when planning your flights.

FAQ or YAWA - You Asked, We Answered (You Are Welcome)

This is one of the most common concerns for late-night arrivals into AYT — and the good news is that reputable private transfer services track your flight in real time. If your Antalya airport transfer is booked with a reliable provider, the driver monitors your flight status and adjusts accordingly, whether you land early or are delayed by an hour. Unlike shared shuttles or public buses (which obviously won’t wait), a pre-booked private Alanya transfer means your driver will be at the arrivals hall holding your name sign whenever you actually walk out. Always confirm the flight-tracking policy when booking, especially for late-night or early-morning arrivals.

For groups of 6 or more, a private minivan transfer to Alanya almost always wins on both comfort and total cost. Shared shuttles are priced per person, so once you do the maths for a larger group, the difference shrinks fast — and you also avoid the classic shuttle pain points: waiting at the airport while the vehicle fills up, multiple drop-offs across Alanya before you reach your hotel, and a fixed departure window that doesn’t suit your schedule. With a private group transfer from Antalya or Gazipaşa, you leave when you’re ready, go direct to your accommodation, and usually pay less per head than you would individually. Families with young children or travellers with a lot of luggage especially notice the difference.

Private airport transfers to Alanya are door-to-door by default — meaning your driver can take you to any address in the region, not just hotels. Whether you’re staying at an apart-hotel in Mahmutlar, a villa rental near Kargıcak, a resort in Okurcalar, or anywhere along the Alanya coastline, just provide the full address when you book. The same applies to less central areas like Avsallar or Türkler. If you’re renting a private property and aren’t 100% sure of the exact address yet, most operators will let you update the drop-off point in advance — just don’t leave it until you’re already in the car.

Most professional transfer drivers operating on the Antalya–Alanya and Gazipaşa–Alanya routes speak functional English — enough to handle greetings, answer basic questions about the area, and make you feel welcome rather than lost. Some speak additional languages like German, Russian, or Dutch, which reflects the mix of nationalities that holiday in the region. That said, “conversational” varies — don’t expect a guided tour, but do expect someone who can tell you the journey time, recommend a restaurant if you ask, or handle any unexpected situation without panic on either side. If language is genuinely important to you (for example, you’re travelling with elderly relatives or young children and want extra reassurance), it’s worth mentioning when you book so the operator can match you with the right driver.

A standard private airport transfer to Alanya typically includes door-to-door service, all tolls, luggage assistance, and bottled water — though the small touches vary between operators. Some vehicles offer Wifi connection, some does not. Check when making the booking. What often isn’t included by default: child seats (usually not charged for but needed to be requested in advance if needed), additional stops along the route, and any fees for excessive luggage or oversized items like surfboards or prams. Some providers offer free meet & greet at arrivals with a name sign, some with the transfer company sign. Make sure you know what to look for. One thing that catches people out: if you book a return transfer as well, make sure cancellation terms are clear on both legs separately.
